Nadao Makimoto's Obituary
Nadao Makimoto, 92, of Waikapu, passed away at home on January 10, 2017.
Services honoring Mr. Makimoto will be held at Makawao Hongwanji on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Visitation will begin at 10am with memorial service to follow at 11am. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Nadao was born on June 20, 1924 in Kula to Hatsugoro & Tatsu Makimoto. He was the eldest son of 9 children. Nadao was a life-long vegetable farmer who also enjoyed karaoke and traveling to Las Vegas.
Mr. Makimoto was predeceased by brother, Namio Makimoto; and sisters, Florence (Koroku) Kamimoto & Betty Hashimoto.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Aiko Makimoto; daughters, Mae Balmores & Joanne (Rocky) Gelsinger; grandsons, Christopher (Beth Pasternack) Balmores, Jeffree (Amber Nishida) Balmores & Justin Gelsinger; granddaughter, Joanna Gelsinger & great grandson, Landon Chamnong. He is also survived by brothers, Robert & Harold Makimoto; sisters, Hanako Hashimoto, Janet (Harold) Inamasu & Yaeko Kawamoto; sister-in-law, Dorothy Makimoto & brother-in-law, Richard Makimoto.
