Nadine Hegler Hughes passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 23, 1914. She was born to Nellie Jean and Lawrence J. Hegler on June 26, 1918 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Nadine was raised in Beverly Hills, California and came to Hawaii in 1937 after her freshman year at Pomona College. Lawrence Hughes of Redwood City, CA, Linton Alice Breen of Spokane, WA, and Carole Hughes Trefts, also of Spokane, WA. Nadine has five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one due in October. She was active in golf, paddle tennis, and swimming through the years, as well as in several community organizations. A major involvement for her was with First Presbyterian Church in Honolulu. She served as an elder and church treasurer for years. She will be greatly missed by her family, which she showered with love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or Compassion International.
