P. Malia Henderson's Obituary
P. Malia Henderson born on December 17, 1959 passed peacefully at Hospice Maui surrounded by her children on January 26, 2019 at 7:50am. She spent her time serving the people around her, and loving everyone within her reach.
She was a mother to all, but gave birth to 6 children: Kenneth Ho, Tiana Henderson, Nalani Tukuafu, Stephen Henderson, Joseph Henderson, and Shalia Henderson and was blessed with 7 grandchildren. She would always say that her children were her greatest gift to the world.
She was heavily involved in her community especially when it came to fighting for the underdog, in particular advocating for senior citizens and strengthening families. Her love spread across organizations like Hale Hulu Mamo, Maui Adult Day Care, Ohana Makamae, Hale Makua, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to name a few. After retiring from her service at Hale Hulu Mamo she became a multi-level marketing guru, and adopted individuals and families from around the world.
She loved to laugh, sing, hula, and be in nature. She loved spontaneous adventures, spoiling her children, and anything to do with the Hawaiian culture. She was a Hawaiian activist in every way possible, and especially by teaching her children to stand up for their beliefs.
Her Celebration of Life will be held in Hana at Mavis & Earle Medeiros Hamoa Hale on February 2, 2019. 9-11am viewing, 11-3pm service and lunch.
