Paul Mortel's Obituary
Paul F. Mortel, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend was born on November 28th, 1941 and passed away on February 10th, 2023.
Paul was a graduate of Henry Perrine Baldwin High School. After High School, he joined the National Guard and Armed Forces of the United States where he received an Honorable Discharge. He also worked for the Navy in Military Sealift Command Pacific. After moving back to Maui, he began working for the County of Maui. Paul was a hardworking man and enjoyed his work. After he retired from the County, he began working for Securitas as a Security Guard.
Paul is survived by his wife: Anita Mortel; son: Jason Pierce (Aiden Pierce); daughter: Kimberly Yoshida (Jase); Christopher Mortel (Tiffany); 5 granddaughters: Aaliyah Sistoza Mortel, Ariani, Kaya, Mia, and Miranda Badayos Mortel; sister and brother: Patricia Bediamol (Eddie), Rita Lanmar (George), Carol Ganancial (Daniel Sr.), Ronnie Mortel (Rosario), April Mortel (David), and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Our family would like to thank everyone who brought comfort and condolences at this time of his passing as well as the doctors and nurses at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Special thanks to the 4th Floor Nurses at Maui Memorial Medical Center and the Hospice staff who took good care of him with love and compassion.
A private service will be held by the family.
