Paula Eddy Baldwin's Obituary

Paula Eddy Baldwin, age 89, died on Maui on Monday, September 23, 2024. Paula was born on May 11, 1935, in El Paso County Texas to Robert Douglas Eddy and Jane Gayle Eddy who settled in LA Jolla, California. Ancestors John and Samuel Eddy were some of the very first pilgrims having landed at Plymouth on October 29,1630. Having relatives in the revolutionary war Paula became a Daughter of the American Revolution. Paula’s life journey carried on honoring her foundation of life and her family. Paula graduated from La Lolla High School in 1953 and Pomana College in 1957 with a BA in Speech and Drama. Paula was then married to Donald William Baldwin on May 16,1959 at St. James by the Sea Episcopal Church in La Jolla, California. In 2011, Paula moved to Kihei, Maui to be closer to her son. In these past 13 years on Maui Paula carried on with being a certified Spiritual Director, the Maui liaison for the Contemplative Outreach for Hawaii, she brought Centering Prayer to a forefront for the Episcopal Churches and beyond on Maui, served as the Executive Director of A Cup of Cold Water (a community care van ministry on Maui), and served in many ways at Trinity Episcopal Church by the Sea in Kihei, Maui where she called her church a home. She fed her spiritual soul and all of those around her through her call to various ministries. While keeping spiritually strong she continued to keep physically strong with her Pilates, yoga, and swimming community. An inspiration for all! Paula will be missed deeply by her family near and far and many friends across the globe. She is survived by her son William Douglas Baldwin and daughter Elizabeth Gale Baldwin, 2 grandchildren, Jason David Baldwin and Christine Elizabeth Greeley. All are invited to a service on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 8:30 am at Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church, 100 Kulanihakoi Street in Kihei, Maui. Memorials can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 100 Kulanihakoi Street, Kihei, Hawaii 96753. Paula’s ashes will be scattered out to sea in a private family ceremony.
