Pedro Carlos' Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the passing of Pedro Carlos, 82, of Kahului, on May 3, 2021 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Ped or Peding, as he is affectionately called by family and friends, was born on September 17, 1938 in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Eusebio Carlos and Theodorica Lucas. He owned 3 stores in Project 4 market, selling banana cue, coconut and ice cream. He and his family moved to Hawaii on June 5, 1982. He worked as
a groundskeeper at Hale Makua in Kahului and retired in 2001.
Pedro is survived by his wife of 54 years, Juana Carlos; daughters, Rosebella (Alejandro Sr.) Baclaan and Eleonor (Renato Sr.) Carlos-Galapon of Kahului, Mary Ann (Ahmad) Barikzi of Salem, Oregon and son, Alexander (Summer) Carlos of Wailuku; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Julio (Pilar, deceased) Carlos of Pahoa and Melecio (Marcela) Carlos of Kona. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Constancia Basilio.
Services for Pedro will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku. A walk-through public visitation will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Continued walk-through public visitation will be on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Maui Memorial Park. The family requests casual attire.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we kindly ask for those in attendance to wear masks and practice social distancing at all times. Temperature checks will be done upon arrival.
