Prudencia Tomas' Obituary
Prudencia Campos Tomas, 100, passed peacefully on May 5, 2021 at her residence in Kahului, Maui.
Prudencia was born on April 24, 1921 in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Sidronio and Emeteria Campos. In 1969, she immigrated to Hawaii together with her husband, Victor Agonoy Tomas. She worked for Alexander & Baldwin as a papaya field worker and retired from HC&S as a field laborer. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Ernesto Tomas Senior; daughter Carmen (Clement) Orquia; adopted granddaughters Mary (Dru) Taylor, Justine Rowena (Gregg) Lockhart; 19 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 35 great great grandchildren. She is now together with her husband Victor Agonoy Tomas Senior; children Victor C. Tomas Junior and Mila Alupay; and her parents Sidronio and Emeteria Campos.
The family would like to acknowledge our gratitude to Maui Memorial Medical Center, Hale Makua (Rehab) and Islands Hospice for their compassion and care through the last month of Prudencia’s life.
Visitation will be held on June 11, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. with continued visitation on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. A private burial will be held at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku.
