Ralph Takao Marushige's Obituary
Ralph Takao Marushige, 71, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on January 11, 2024, at Hospice Maui Hale. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Yutaka and Hatsue Marushige.
Ralph graduated from Leilehua High School and Leeward Community College. He worked at the Honolulu City and County Department of Parks and Recreation and retired from Hawaiian Telcom. He then worked part-time at the Mililani and Coral Creek Golf Courses.
Ralph enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing on all the islands with his fishing buddies, traveling to Las Vegas, and watching sumo and the University of Hawaii athletic games on TV.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Katherine “Kathy” Marushige, son Clint Marushige, daughter Shari Marushige-Nham (Dana), stepson Cody Yamamoto, stepdaughter Ivy Yamamoto, grandchildren Noah & Shana Nham, sisters Annette (Dean) Mizumura, Suzette (Alan) Arita, and Lynette Marushige, parents-in-law Clarence & Jean Miyasato and many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Services will be held on February 17, 2024 at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am. A memorial service will be held at the Wahiawa Ryusenji Soto Mission on O’ahu on February 23, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
