Regan Reginald K. Nitta's Obituary
Regan Nitta, 51, one of Lahaina’s best fisherman was found and called home by Akua on Saturday, June 23, 2018. A true Westside boy, who stayed close to his hometown roots from ‘Ukumehame to Kahakuloa where he could mālama and live off the ocean.
Regan, lived life to the fullest and provided to the Lahaina community as an avid self-sustained fisherman, diver, ‘opihi & mango picker. He worked at Ali’i Linen where they knew him as hardworking, always smiling, & “the happy baby.” He was born on January 5, 1967 to Shigeo and Bernice Nitta.
They preceded him in death, as well as his son Dustin Nitta and sister Lynn Nitta.
Regan will be truly missed with heavy hearts by his son and best friend Lance (Courtney) Nitta and Boy. He is also survived by longtime partner Deanna “Dee” Bolen; 7 Mo’opuna - ‘Aukelenuiaiku “Lilo”, Kahelekekūaola “Front Flip”, Kekūpa’a, Aliyah, Kamalei, Anela, & Kale’a. 3 Brothers, Rodney (Josie) Nitta, Roger Nitta, & Robert (Sandy) Nitta. 4 Sisters, Roberta “Bobby” (Melvin) Kamakawiwo’ole-Hodson, Lori (Frank) Salvatierra, Noella (Vernon) Iwahashi & Norine (Kaipo) Matsumura. Numerous nieces, nephews, and `ohana.
Services for Regan will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 27, 2018, Lahaina Baptist Church. Continuing onto Saturday July 28 and Sunday July 29, 2018 at Wahikuli “Pump House”. Potluck, Pūlehu, Ho’omoana style MAHALO!
