Robert Takeyuki Tanaka's Obituary
Robert Takeyuki Tanaka went to his Heavenly Home on August 8, 2015. He died at Roselani Place, Kahului, Maui.
He was born on December 14, 1918 to Shinzo Tanaka and Take Akiyoshi. He attended Saint Anthony School and received the Highest Medal for Academic Achievement.
He started working at Wailuku Sugar Company at the age of fifteen and retired at the age of fifty-seven as a supervisor. He was active in the ILWU.
On October 4, 1941 he married Miyoko Tokunaga and they had three children: Sandra Sanae, Arlene Yukie and Patrick Yoshio. They lived a wonderful life in Wailuku.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Miyoko T. Tanaka. He is survived by his children Sandra Sanae Tanaka, Arlene Y. (Romeo) Canales and Patrick Y. (Marcia) Tanaka; grandchildren: Alban Y. Canales, Sachie A. Vu, Marcos T. Canales, Robert I. Tanaka and Jennifer K. Kaneshiro; great grandchildren: Sophia/Catarina Vu, Rylan/Keli Tanaka and Jase Kaneshiro. He is also survived by his sister Sue (James) Anzai and several nephews and nieces.
