Rosalinda Dacanay's Obituary
Rosalinda Dacanay of Kahului, HI, passed away on September 23, 2022 from stomach cancer surrounded by her family. She was born on May 2nd, 1948 to Pedro Dacanay and Pacita Fernandez. She is from Pangasinan, Philippines and moved to Maui, HI in 2001.
She was a member of the Christ the King Catholic community and served and loved the Lord wholeheartedly. She was a businesswoman in the Philippines and a housekeeper at Hale Makua where she considered her colleagues as family. She enjoyed listening and singing to gospel music, walking in the park, shopping, and just spending time with family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Guillermo Dacanay.
She is survived by her siblings Lolita, Perry, Farah, Johnny, Florencio, and Solomon. Also with her four children, Remedios (Melan), Wilfredo (Maryknoll), Julius (Rachel), Meliza (Darcy), along with her grandchildren Michael (Meriam), John Paul (Nadia), Jennica, Marielle, Ian, Rob, Trixia (Pierce), and Arabella, and her great grandchildren Alexandra, Ysabel Rose, and Ezekiel.
Services for Rosalinda will be held on
Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Nakamura Mortuary located at 1218 Lower Main Street, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793. Family visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.; Public visitation at 4:30 p.m.; Prayer service at 5:00 p.m.
