Rose Yoshizawa's Obituary
Ms. Rose Yoshizawa, 93, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Kula under the care of Hospice Maui, surrounded by family.
Services honoring Ms. Yoshizawa will be held on Saturday, April 16 at The LDS church in Kahului. Services will begin at 10:00am, and conclude at 11:00am. Ms. Yoshizawa will be laid to eternal rest at a later date. At the family’s request, please no flowers.
Rose was born on October 1, 1922 in Lahaina, Hawaii to Manuel and Rose Mathias.
Rose worked at the Maui News for thirty five years before retiring. She was an advertising saleswoman and loved her job. She belonged to the "Plunkers" and playing music was one of her favorite hobbies. Her voice was incredible. She was very involved with her church callings and loved serving others.
Ms. Yoshizawa will join in Heaven, her husband Mr. Ted Etsuro Yoshizawa, who predeceased her.
Ms. Yoshizawa leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Vernadine Rapozo, and Marilyn Pereira; sons, Herbert Hill, and Aaron Hill; brothers, Ernest Mathias, and Jordan Mathias; sister, Dorothy Awai; 20 grandchildren; and 3 loving great grandchildren.
