Sadae “Doris” Fujii, 93

Sadae “Doris” Fujii, 93, passed away on May 11, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Doris, as she was known by many, was born in Lahaina, Maui and raised in the Māla Village area. She went to King Kamehameha III School and graduated from Lahainaluna High School. She worked for Maui Pineapple Company and spent most of her career as a waitress in the Discovery Room at the Sheraton Maui Resort. She was also an active member of the Lahaina Hongwanji Mission, as well as the Honolua Senior Club and the Westside Senior Center. An avid cook, Doris was best known for making mochi for family events.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, Tokusuke and Kamado Ige, her siblings Kiyoko (Florencio), Hitoshi, Fumiko, Sumie (Shigeto), Tokuichi (Sumiko), Masahide, and her husband, Harumi. She is survived by her siblings Miyoko (Susumu) and Joyce, sister in law, Abigail, her children, Irving (Marie), Claire (José - deceased), and Noel (Jan). Doris has 3 grandchildren, Kyle (Kilohana), Brendan (Aimee), and Mira, and 2 great-grandchildren, Kanon and Kolton.
Services will be held at Kahului Hongwanji Mission on June 15, 2024. Visitation is at 9:30 with the service starting at 10:00am. The family requests no flowers and koden.
