Saichi Spencer Shiraishi, Sr., 87, passed away on August 29, 2013 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Services will be held at Kahului Union Church on Friday, September 6, 2013. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.; with service at 6:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
Mr. Shiraishi was born on July 19, 1926 in Paia, Maui. He was the chief engineer for KMVI Radio & Television Stations and the founder of the Maui Swim Club in 1958.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wilma Shiraishi and sister, Jean Jonsie Yamamoto and survived by his son, Spencer S. (Ululani) Shiraishi, Jr.; daughters, Leilani T. Blashill, Margie H. Shiraishi, Erika Y. (Marty) Harvey; brother, Clinton I. (Fumiko) Shiraishi; sisters, Alice Y. Ching, Jane S. Festerling; grandson, Spencer E. P. Shiraishi, Cameron A. S. Harvey; granddaughters, Maile M. Blashill, Riley L. Shiraishi, and Quinn P. Shiraishi.
