Samuel Kamuela Kawa'akoa Jr's Obituary
On May 10, 2023, at 7:10 am Samuel Kamuela Kawa’akoa Jr. passed ever so peacefully, at the Hospice Maui Hale in Wailuku, Maui of Metastatic Cancer. With his family and friends at his side, he transitioned on to a better place. He was 76 years old.
Samuel Kamuela Kawa’akoa Jr. is survived by his children, Nancy Leilani Kawa’akoa (Schwabish Hall, Germany), Kathryn Pilialoha Kawa’akoa (Pearland, Texas), Kamuela Carillo Kawa’akoa and Samantha Ilona Kawa’akoa (Lahaina, Maui); Siblings, Doreen Agdeppa Pai, Samuel Ellis Jr., Bernard Portabes, Mary Hoku Kawa’akoa Sakamoto and Kamala Kawa’akoa. He was predeceased by parents Samuel Kawa’akoa and Rebecca Hall and siblings, Nick Agdeppa and Manny Portabes.
Samuel K. Kawa’akoa Jr. ceremonies are open to the public, so please join us to honor such a humble Hawaiian Soul.
Military Honors: Friday June 30th, 2023, at 9:00 am at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 2nd, 2023, at the Wahikuli “One-Way” Beach Park. Services will begin at 11:00 am.
