Satsue Ogawa Kanechika, 92
Mrs. Satsue O. Kanechika, “Sachi,” to her family and close friends, of Kahului, died November 29, 2016 in Honolulu. She was born on April 25, 1924 in Wailuku, Maui to Haruyo & Kesajiro Ogawa.
Satsue was predeceased by her husband, Kingo Kanechika, who was a veteran of the 442nd RCT, Company M. Also to have predeceased her were three older brothers, Masaji, Kesaji and Haruji Ogawa, and very recently, her younger brother, Masao Ogawa.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen (Robert) Griffon, Alma (Hugh) McKenzie and Teri (Edward A.) Wong. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Connor, Amelia, Erin and Taylor.
Also surviving Satsue are two younger brothers, Rikiya “Rex” (Grace) Ogawa and Katsuaki (Helene) Ogawa; and two sister-in-laws, Teresa Ogawa and Amy Ogawa.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements and private services were held.
