Scott was a friend & fellow tenant. We always would talk whenever we were outside taking care of our yard or plants. He would always do the mowing and me thd plants. He was always quiet but would stop to talk story whenever he saw me. He so loved his cat, Ukumehame and was his constant companion. He will be missed by me & many others. Rest In Peace, my friend🙏
We’re so sorry at the passing of our friend and brother in the Lord. Surprised, shocked and deeply saddened when we heard. We always joked about how multi-talented he is, Lawyer, bank manager, Bible teacher, small machine mechanic and much more, he was always smiling and accommodating.
He will be missed but not forgotten!

I am so saddened to hear of Scott's passing. We went to grade school together, but many years had passed until we reconnected a few years ago. We went around my yard a couple of times and I gave him cuttings of whatever he wanted. He messaged me on Nov. 3 to get more cuttings of my Rose of Sharon plant. I had replied that I just pruned it and treated it for bugs, but in a few weeks it would be ready for him. It broke my heart to hear this very sad news. Condolences to his Ohana and Friends. I am so so sorry to learn of Scott’s passing. Scott and I worked together at Maui Prosecutor’s Office and he was one of my best buddies. We shared many fun times including our field trip to Koho’olawe. I will never forget all the fun times shared. Scott was a great friend and a wonderful person. My time on Maui was truly blessed because Scott was a part of it. He loved his cat and was the person that got me interested in fostering and adopting my cat Boo. Counselor Scott Hanano was one of the coolest individuals I have ever met and befriended (since high school). A couple of decades and a half ago when I told him about my work, he lent me a wireless dinosaur of a phone that was about the size of two bricks but weighed like four. Not the most practical phone by today's standards, but really cool and contemporary at the time. He eventually directed me to a pager company. Counselor Scott connected, supported, and helped a lot of folks. I'll miss him immensely.
