Sesinando "Sando" Sagayaga's Obituary
Sesinando "Sando" Sagayaga, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went home to the Lord peacefully on November 18, 2025. He was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on July 12, 1925, to his parents Panteleon and Honorata Sagayaga.
As a young man, he journeyed to Maui in 1946, where he began working at Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company. After many years of hard work and strength, he finally retired at age 62 with 41years of service.
He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Dominga to the mainland USA, Canada, various countries in Asia and Europe, and Philippines. His greatest joy was always found in the warmth of family gatherings, especially when surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sando was a quiet man, with a big heart of giving and kindness. He was always helping and supporting his family and relatives with generosity. He has touched many lives through his quiet, steady presence.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Anita (Clayton) Fernandez, Charles (Rose) Sagayaga, Nancy (Michael) Tanji, Shirley (Jack) Carlisle; his grandchildren: Christina, Chad, Chris, Kaci, Mychal, Marissa, Mitchell, Megan, Matthew, and 9 great grandchildren.
Sando was preceded in death by his wife Dominga, parents: Panteleon and Honorata, siblings: Paulino, Marcaria Cadiz, Mariano, Cresanta Sagario, Marcelino Valentin, Carmen Yanos, and Flora Cadiz.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Maui Memorial Medical Center Haleakala East wing, Hospice Maui, and Roman Queja for their compassion care and support.
Funeral Services will be held @ Christ the King Church (20 W. Wakea Ave. Kahului, Hawaii 96732) on December 10, 2025, public view will begin @ 9am, Mass to follow. Burial will take place at Maui Memorial Park Main Cemetery (450 Waiale Rd. Wailuku, Hawaii 96793) @ 1230pm.
