Shirley Bernice Brenner's Obituary
Shirley Bernice Brenner (Stewart); born May 7th, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota passed May 8th, 2021 in Maui, Hawaii. By her side was her daughter Dana Rae Hartley, grandson William Hartley and his bride Haley Wolf. Preceded in death by her parents Edith (Velander) and William Stewart, and siblings Lorraine Oberg, William (Bill) Stewart, and the father of her children William (Bill) Brenner.
Shirley was a vibrant, gregarious and loving person, with an eye for the camera, color and fashion following a professional career as a runway model for 25 years. She spent most of her life in Minnesota, but eventually tired of the winters, moved to Maui permanently in 1995 to be with her daughters’ family.
Shirley was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 45 years and was looked upon as a matriarch of the Upcountry Sunrise daily meeting.
Mrs. Brenner is survived by one brother, James Stewart; three children, William Scott Brenner, Craig Elliott Brenner, all of Minnesota, Dana Rae (Brenner) Hartley (Robert); five grandchildren, Erica (Thompson-Brenner) Perrizo, WI., Jessie (Thompson-Brenner) Koch (Andrew) IA., William Hartley (Haley) CA., Margaret Hartley NY., William (BT Brenner) Martins. MN; and four great-grandchildren, Jacoby, and Camila Perrizo, and Kinsley, and Colette Koch.
A celebration of life will be held in the fall in Minnesota.
