Shirnette Luela Brandt Kalua's Obituary
Shirnette Luela Kalua 65, of Napili, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at Islands Hospice Hale in Kahului. She was born on February 04, 1956 in Napili, Maui.
She was preceded in death by mother, Muriel "Ulu" Kalua, sisters Mary Kalua and Lehua Kalua. At the time of her passing, She was survived by her one and only Son: Alika (Noe) Kalua; Brothers: Frank (Sherrie) Kalua Nunes, John Kanani (Lisa) Nunes, Joseph Kaaihue Werner; Sisters: Ulu L. Kalua, Kaili (Eric) Hirose, and JoAnn Delima; her father Joseph Kaaihue and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She had a love for Hula and the Hawaiian culture; She loved spending time with ohana and friends and listening to Hawaiian music. Shirnette was also known as "Aunty Krazy" to many, and you could always count on her making you laugh with her Krazy sense of humor or waving to you from her front yard saying "eh, what you wearing?" or Fo'Real. She was definitely one of a kind and her memory will be cherished forever.
To honor Shirnette's last wishes, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Waiola Church in Lahaina on June 25, 2022. Visitation at 830am - 930am, Service at 930-10:30am. On Sunday June 26, 2022, She will finally be laid to rest and join her beloved family out at Napili Bay.
