In Loving Memory of Stanley Paul Dillon
Stanley Paul Dillon, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and his loyal dog by his side. He was born on June 15, 1949, in Norwalk,Ohio and grew up in Milan, where he attended school and built the foundation of the strong, hardworking man he would become.
At 18, Stan proudly enlisted in the United States Army. He attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, where he studied North Vietnamese. From 1968 to 1970, he served in the Vietnam War as a translator interpreter, earning top secret crypto clearance. Stan was honorably discharged with distinguished service, earning 7 military medals, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty, resilience, and pride.
Following his military service, Stan pursued his passion for electrical work at United Electronics Laboratories and later earned his Contractors License on Maui. In 1978, he married the love of his life, Kay. Together, they began their next chapter in Phoenix, Arizona, traveling there in a Volkswagen bus alongside Kay’s father, Daughter Shannon and their beloved Great Danes—an adventure that set the tone for a life full of movement, determination, and love.
In 1989, Stan and Kay made their home in Makawao, Maui. There, Stan built a legacy through his business, Stan’s Solar and Electrical, serving the island community for over 30 years. Known across Maui for his skill, reliability, and willingness to help, Stan worked with the County of Maui as well as countless residential and commercial clients. Whether it was electrical work, solar projects, or lending a hand to a neighbor, Stan was always ready to get the job done.
Stan lived life fully and joyfully. He loved riding his motorcycles around the island with the Maui Weasels and was a proud member of his fishing club, The Early Hookers. His beach BBQs were legendary, bringing friends and family together with laughter and great food. He cherished his time at Polli’s Mexican Restaurant, where he formed lifelong friendships and shared countless memories.
Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Kay; his daughter, Shannon; and his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Justin, Brandon, and Josh. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at Maui Hospice for their care and support during Stan’s final days.
Stan will be remembered for his strength, generosity, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
