I only knew Stephen for a short time and I will cherish those memories for he touched me in so many ways spiritually. He demonstrated his determination always with a warm heart and kindness that glowed when he smiled. I feel blessed to have known this special man. My sincere condolences and prayers to Audrey and the family.
About 25 years ago I met Stephen and Audrey, and from the first time we met it was clear that they were both really "cool." It was neat to see how they loved the beach, the land, and each other. We had lots of fun times together -- good food and drink and great stories from Stephen. He was easy to be with and always took time to make everyone else comfortable. One special night my husband and I were guests and Stephen and Audrey's wonderful home, and it was a magical evening.
Over the years we fell out of touch -- no reason, it just happens when people move jobs and are on different islands. So I was sad to read that Stephen passed, but grateful to have had the opportunity to know this special person, and to have had such fun times and memories. My thoughts are with Audrey and the Allencastre family.
Stephen Allencastre was my neighbor during my teen age years in Kihei, Maui! I remember diving with him south of the Koa House at the first reef! he shot at a fish and missed, his spear slid down the deep side of the reef and he couldn't get it! I went down and got it, but as soon as I grap it my left ear drum burst, I came back up and could see Lanai spinng! Stephen said he watched me go down . It was about 60 feet and I went down to fast! We never had diving lession we just dove as deep as we could, That day sort of slow my diving down Stephen went on and became a good diver. I missed all the people that grew up during this time lots of our friends are now gone. I would have love to have talked to him one more time for good times sakes!

Stephen was an oldie and a goodie with such a childlike spirit. You were always up for supporting our surfer girl circle and the first and last person to show up at the beach to help us get the paina started and to light the bon fire.

We will miss you. Thank You for all the encouraging words and sharing your love of dirt biking with us. It became a sport that we did as a family. It brought Tim , Jacob and I closer and encouraged me to step out of my safety zone. You were and still are a great friend.
