Sunao Minobe's Obituary
Sunao Minobe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8,
2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on
November 30, 1933 in Puunene, Maui.
Sunao was a member of the Hawaii National Guard for 17 years. He later retired from Maui Land &Pine after working there for 39
years. Sunao will be lovingly remembered as being funny and
loving to talk stories. He enjoyed wearing his funny T-Shirts and making spam musubi and banana bread to share with friends and family. He will be missed by many.
He is predeceased by his wife Margaret Minobe, his parents
Toshio and Masae Minobe and his two brothers Mickey Minobe
and James Minobe.
He is survived by his brother Richard Minobe, his son Mark
(Joslyn) Minobe, his daughters, Wendy (Matthew) Gomes and
Heidi (Adrian) Minobe-Nacua, his grandchildren, Shawn
(Kamaka) Kan-Hai, Shelly Kan-Hai, Mickey Minobe, Shiree
(Kawai) Cremer, Mandy Gomes, Joshua Gomes, Ashley
Minobe-Nacua, Taylor Minobe-Nacua and Amber Minobe-Nacua,
and his great grandchildren, Iokepa Kan-Hai and Emma Cremer.
Per his wishes no services will be held. The family will scatter his
ashes at a later date. The family also wishes to thank Islands
Hospice for their quality care and compassion.
