Susan Lei Hiramatsu's Obituary
Susan Lei Hiramatsu, 67, of Kula, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016 at her home, under the care of her loving family and Islands Hospice.
Services honoring Susan will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm, with services beginning at 5:00pm. Aloha attire please.
Susan was born on January 23, 1949 in Honolulu to Robert and Muriel Hiramatsu. She was the eldest of four children. A few years after graduating from UH Manoa with a bachelor’s degree in History, she moved to Maui where she began working at Honolulu Roofing Company. It was there she met the love of her life, Alan Fujiwara. Susan later retired from Hawaiian Ceramic Tiles as a sales manager. She will be remembered as a friendly, caring and generous woman who put others before herself. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling, gambling, baking and laughing with friends and family. She was a positive woman, who had a way of having fun, no matter the circumstance.
Susan was predeceased by her father, Mr. Robert K. Hiramatsu and her brother-in-law, Glenn Nakasone.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Muriel Hiramatsu; companion, Alan Fujiwara; brother, Gary (Lori) Hiramatsu; sisters, Anne (Glenn) Nakasone and Karen (Jeff Takemoto) Hiramatsu-Kikuchi. She also leaves behind 5 treasured nephews, Michael & Jacob Nakasone, Phillip Kikuchi, Gavin & Garrison Hiramatsu and her beloved niece, Emily Nakasone.
