Taeko Snellgrove's Obituary
Taeko Snellgrove was born on May 2, 1928, in Osaka Japan, and passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Her grandfather, Shintaro Koga, was deeply religious and named her “Taeko”, which means “blessing “. This name was so fitting, she was the greatest blessing to her family, friends, and many others. She lived a life of love and touched many lives by her acts of selfless kindness. She was beautiful from the inside out, and always quick to lend those in need a helping hand. Her family in Japan taught her the greatest of these is LOVE, and to help those behind you, not those in front of you. She was always positive and encouraging- never a negative moment. She was fun loving, joyful, generous, and showed her love in the kitchen (she was an amazing cook). She was also a very talented artist, as illustrated by her art and craft projects. She was not only sweet and kind , but also her children’s greatest cheerleader.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife. She was pre-deceased by her husband of over 50 years, Marvin Snellgrove, and oldest son Reggie Snellgrove. She is survived by her sons Leland Snellgrove (Lori) of Olympia, Wa, and Michael Snellgrove (Semira) of Dallas, Tx; daughters Anna Galatolo (Mark) of Lahaina, HI, and Barbara Lawson (Dan) of Tacoma, WA, and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held in Washington State, at a future date.
