Takeo Omuro's Obituary
Takeo Omuro, 85, of Kahului, passed away peacefully at Kula Hospital on March 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Omuro will be held at Kahului Union Church on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm, with services beginning at 4:00pm. Family requests no flowers, please.
Takeo was born on September 26, 1932 in Wailuku to Shigeru & Takeko Omuro. He was the youngest of four children. After graduating from H.P. Baldwin High School in 1950, Takeo proudly served in the US Army in Germany. Upon his return, Takeo honed his woodworking skills and became the owner/operator of Kahului Cabinet Shop. His later years would confirm what his true calling was, he became a master wood craftsman and artist. He participated in many craft fairs and art shows.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hosting family gatherings, socializing at Swap Meet Saturdays, watching his grandchildren’s games and cheering on the UH Rainbow baseball Bows. He was a generous soul who loved the arts, and above all else, cherished his family.
In Heaven, Takeo will join his brothers, Wayne & Katsuo Omuro; and sister Harriet Omuro. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Miyoko “Carol” Omuro; children, Brian (Marilou) Omuro, Claire (Denny) Higa, Faye (Darryl) Amaral & Ivy (Arthur) Spenser; grandchildren, Brianna Rose Omuro, Mason Higa, Miyo Higa, Jesse Amaral, Andrew Amaral, Mahie Spenser, Shaine Spenser, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Kula Hospital staff for giving Takeo the best possible care a family could ask for. We are so grateful.
