Teodorico Tamayo Panlasigui's Obituary
Teodorico “Doro” Tamayo Panlasigui of Napili passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family at the age of 90. Teodorico was born in Dacutan, Mangsingal, Illocos Sur, in the Philippine Islands on June 26, 1922 to Antonio and Rosalia. Teodorico was a member of the Sakadas that came to Hawaii in 1946. Upon moving to Maui he settled in the community of Honolua where he dedicated over 40 years of his career. Initially he worked for Baldwin Packers and later for Maui Land & Pineapple Co. His lifelong passions were fishing, farming and being a resourceful craftsman.
Teodorico is survived by his wife of 28 years Lelita, children Virginia, Antonio “Tony” (Lulu), Artemio “Temio”, Amelito “Lito”, Alvin (Tessie), Velma, and his siblings, sisters Esperanza, Santiaga, Carmen and brother Rudolpho “Cosme”. His large family includes 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Wednesday April 17, 2013, at 9 am, with services at 10 am. Burial will follow at Maui Memorial Park, 2pm. Condolences may be sent to 48 Hui F Rd, Lahaina HI 96761.
