Tetsuyuki "Captain" Nakamoto's Obituary
Tetsuyuki “Captain” Nakamoto, 91, of Lahaina, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018, under the compassionate care of Hospice Maui and loving family by his side.
Services honoring Mr. Nakamoto will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Lahaina Jodo Mission, with services beginning at 10:00am.
Mr. Nakamoto was born on November 14, 1926, in Lahaina, HI, to the late Mr. Hichizo & Mrs. Yone Nakamoto. Tetsuyuki was raised in Lahaina, attended Lahaina Luna High School, and excelled at all sports. Tetsuyuki was a welder at the Pioneer mill and loved to provide for his family. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed diving, playing baseball, and taking the family camping.
Tetsuyuki is predeceased by his loving wife, Harumi Harada Nakamoto.
Tetsuyuki leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Gerald T. Nakamoto, and Tim T. Nakamoto; daughter, Lulu (Mark) King; sister, Hanako (Ransom) Randall; grandchildren, Isaac (Nat) King, James (Christy) Nakamoto, Daryl (Lyana) Nakamoto, and Shane Sanderson; great grand kids, Kaila Ompoy-King, Sydney Nakamoto, and Lucas Nakamoto; and great great grandchild, Paul Sievert.
