Thomas Isamu Arakaki's Obituary
Thomas Isamu Arakaki, 99, of Pukalani, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2018 at Hale Makua Kahului, surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Arakaki were held privately.
Thomas was born on March 3, 1919 in Keahua, to Toku & Kana Arakaki. After proudly serving in the U.S. Army, Thomas returned to Maui, where he married the love of his life, Elnora Shizuko. Together, they would raise four children while he worked as an electrician. When he wasn't working, Thomas was always tinkering, and always had an ongoing project. He enjoyed working with his hands, fixing things and was incredibly creative. He also liked to fish, sing, play the ukulele and harmonica, and was a faithful member of Paia Rinzai Zen.
Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elnora Shizuko Arakaki in 2006; and son, Glen Arakaki. Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Galen Arakaki; daughters, Dawn (George) DeLara & Nora Arakaki; grandchildren, Sara Ann (Fred) Alipot & Naomi DeLara; brothers, George & Stanley Arakaki; and sister, Caroline Tamashiro.
