Thomas Hoben "Hachi" Krueger III's Obituary
Thomas Hoben “Hachi” Krueger III of Wailuku, Maui passed away on July 30, 2022 at the age of 74, from kidney disease complications. Tom was born on Maui, April 6, 1948 to Thomas Hobron Krueger Jr. and Masako (Takahashi) Krueger. He attended Kamehameha Schools, Lahainaluna, and graduated from Baldwin High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. In Utah he met and married Dawna Lee (Hanson) Krueger on July 31, 1971. Tom, Dawna and their two daughters, Tracey and Keli’i moved back to Maui in 1979. Thomas worked as a diesel mechanic at Maui Electric for 25 years before his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and diving. Thomas was an active golfer all of his life. He was often surrounded by his schnauzers and spent many afternoons at the dog park.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother Masako and father Thomas Krueger Jr. He is survived by his friend, companion and wife of 51 years Dawna, daughters Tracey Kanani Johnson (Ethan Kela Butterfield), Keli’i Ann Krueger, granddaughter Kitra Hokupa’a Krueger, his siblings Joseph Krueger (Leathe, deceased), Robert Krueger (Jodie Ann Noe), and Emily(Louis) Markee, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Iao United Church of Christ Saturday August 6, 2022 at 10:00am, with visitation starting at 9:00am. A bento lunch will follow the service. The family requests no flowers. Online condolences may be left at: https://www.nakamuramortuary.com/
