Tomiko H. Fujimoto, of Kahului, died on Aug. 4, 2015, at her home, under the care of Hospice Maui.

Mrs. Fujimoto was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Pauwela, HI. She was a school teacher on Maui for over 30 years. After retiring, she continued to teach English to Japanese speakers and developed a reputation for assisting them in studying for their American citizenship.
Mrs. Fujimoto is survived by her daughters, Gail Fujimoto, and April (Edward Franklin, Jr.) Fujimoto; daughter in law, Joyce H. Fujimoto; grandchildren, Jodi (James) Fujimoto Digler, Lisa (Eric Nielsen) Fujimoto, Amy Franklin, Edward Franklin, III; great grandchildren, Trevor Fujimoto Digler, and Abigail Nielsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toshio “Tata” Fujimoto, and son, Terry Fujimoto.
