Vivian Watanabe, 95, of Kula, Maui, died on September 24, 2012, at Kula Hospital.Visitation will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 10:00am, with services at 11:00. Burial will follow at 2:00pm, at Maui Memorial Park.Mrs. Watanabe was born in Kahului, HI on December 6, 1916. She was a retired retail manager for a local music store.She was predeceased by her husband, Chester Hitoshi Watanabe. She is survived by her son Bert (Jane) Watanabe; granddaughter, Ann Watanabe; sister Toshiko (James) Ogasawara.Vivian was friendly and outgoing with everyone. She could make anything grow. She would say, “You gotta be nice. Smile at it.”
