Walter Filmore Hester Jr.'s Obituary
Walter Filmore Hester Jr. joined heaven on the early evening of Sunday, August 25th, 2019 at 91 years young in the comfort of his home in Kaanapali.
Walter was born in High Point NC on July 10, 1928. Walter graduated from West Point Military Academy and received his wings. Walter served in the Air Force and Strategic Air Command before going to work for Shell in November of 1956. Walter enjoyed flying, sailing, tennis and playing golf.
Walter is survived by three children, spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elizabeth Perry Hester Schaefer, oldest daughter, and her husband Gary Christian Schaefer have four children, Lauren Elizabeth Schaefer Dickson, Derek Bridgforth Schaefer, Christian Perry Schaefer and Nicholas Gary Hester Schaefer. Lauren is married to Roger Andrew Dickson and have two children, James Dickson and Kate Dickson. Walter Filmore Hester III, oldest son, and wife Souphatra have two children Lilah Ivy Hester, and Walter F. Hester IV. Mark Crowder Hester, youngest son, and his wife Tracy Ellen Hester have three children Kenny Tisdale, Sarah Estep and Tony Foster. Sarah is married to Kyle Estep and they have two boys, Ryan and Dominick Estep.
