Wendell "Sonny" Lono Kalawaia Sr. was born on March 11th, 1931, to William Lono Kalawaia & Ruth Kolo'a Kalawaia in Kahului, Maui.
Wendell was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. He had a lifetime love of Jesus, music, art, trains, motorcycles, and trucks. on July 5th, 2025, Wendell went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Akiu Kahiamoe Kalawaia, his daughter Rachel and son Wesley Sr.
He is survived by his sons Wendell Jr., and Wayne. His daughter Edna "Ann", his grandchildren Craig (Loke), Charnel (Clinton), Chris, Jamie (Thomas), Jase, Siara, and Wesley Jr., his great grandchildren Bubba (Jeantel), Kaua'ika, Kanale, Kiani, Kileia, Ka'anoi, U'ilani, Hi'ilei, Kaikea, Noah, Keleana, Kede and 4 great great grandchildren
