William James Raeburn Flerlage's Obituary
Bill Flerlage, 70, passed away on September 16th at his home in Kihei, Hawaii. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 31, 1942, his family moved to Des Plaines, Illinois where they lived until moving to Redlands, California in 1954. He attended Redlands High School and worked for several years at People's Furniture in Redlands, before beginning a career in the tire industry, working in several locations in Southern California, Maine, Nebraska, and Maui.Many will remember Bill as the long time owner/operator of Tire Warehouse in Kahului. After selling the business, he continued to work there for several years before retiring in 2011.Bill's broad interests included auto racing and classic cars. He enjoyed all genres of music and was an avid record collector.Preceded in death by his father, Raeburn Flerlage of Chicago, Illinois; mother, Doris Kerr of Redlands, California; eldest sister, Kristin Laxar-Landell of Oakland, California; younger brother, Michael Kerr; and infant daughter, Bill is survived by sisters, Karen Parker of Salem, Oregon; Donna Adams of Redlands, California and Deborah Babcock of Kula, Hawaii. He also leaves daughters, Barbara Camacho of Redlands, California, Shannon Gutierrez of Mentone, California and Melanie Flerlage of Beaverton, Oregon and seven grandchildren.Bill (or "Will" as he was also called) will be remembered for his quiet demeanor, kindness, generosity and sense of humor.A celebration of life will be held Saturday morning, November 3 at the Dunes at Maui Lani's Banquet Room, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
