Wilma Souza's Obituary
Wilma Santos Souza, 70, of Haiku passed away on June 20, 2019 at home surrounded by her family under hospice care.
Wilma was born June 8, 1949 in Wailuku and was raised at camp Maluhia in Kahakuloa, where she later took the position as Camp Ranger. She was well known for her prune mui, pickled mango and mango seed.
She is survived by her husband, Wilfred Souza; daughter, Wendy (Kurt) Souza-Lopes; step-sons, Alex Maldonado, Eric (Janice) Austring and Derrick Naauao; grandchildren, Wytlee, Charles, Dayzee, Cassidy, Isaiah, Tiare, Joey, Kaleo, Cory, Kealohi, Kuulei and Mahiole; greatgrandson, Namaka; sister, Mary Lou Santos; brothers, Donald (Terri) Santos, Ronald (Arleen) Santos, and Gilbert Santos.
She is loved and will be greatly missed also by many nieces, nephews and hanai kids she took on over the years.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Oskie Rice Arena Clubhouse on Olinda Road in Makawao.
Family would like to thank Hospice Maui and the 5th floor nurses at Maui Memorial Hospital especially Randi, Amee and Lovelee for going above and beyond there job duties to keep her comfortable during her time with them.
