Yoshiko Chinen's Obituary
Yoshiko Chinen, 93, died on October 11, 2014, surrounded by her family in Kahului, Maui under the care of Hale Makua and Hospice Maui.
Mrs. Chinen was born on March 28, 1921 in Haiku, Maui and lived both in Puunene and Kahului where she worked for many years as a packer at Maui Pine.
Predeceased by her husband, Jiro Chinen, she is survived by daughters Nancy [Lt. Col. Hiromu (ret.)] Goya, Jeanette Sunahara, Sharon (Frank) Ingle, Dr. Sandra (Fred) Mathis, Jill Chinen (Peter Hertzmann); sons Robert Chinen and Glenn (Linda) Chinen; granddaughter, Erin Sunahara, and twelve other grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters Nancy Oshiro and Thelma Onishi.
Private services were held at Nakamura Mortuary and the Paia Rinzai Zen Mission.
