Yoshiko Fujiwara's Obituary
Yoshiko (Yoshi) Fujiwara passed away at home on February 3, 2026 at the age of 92 with her children by her side. She was born on September 15, 1933 in Kahului, Maui.
She was the 6th of 9 children, 6 girls and 3 boys.
Yoshiko graduated from Baldwin High School.
Yoshiko met her future husband, Richard Fujiwara, while she was working for the government as an Executive Assistant. They were married for 54 years until he passed away in 2009.
She is survived by her 5 children - Alan Fujiwara (Debbie Vincent), Lynn Chong (Dr.
Jerris Hedges), Gale Fujiwara, Carol (Owen) Higashiguchi, and Terianne (Ryan) Arreola along with 6 grandchildren - Christina Teruya, David Ferreira, Jenni Higashiguchi (predeceased), Lason Arreola, Logan Chong and Liko Arreola. She is also survived by Bill (Remy Takiguchi), brother and Stella (Mitts) Tamura, sister.
Memorial Services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku, 1218 Lower Main Street on Friday, April 24, 2026. Family visitation @9:30 am. Public visitation @ 10:00am, services start at 10:45am, followed by a lunch reception. Casual attire is requested.
