Yukio Roy Fujiwara's Obituary
Yukio Roy “Pops” Fujiwara
Passed away peacefully at home April 30, 2023 under the care of hospice. Born May 31, 1929 in Los Angeles, CA, he was 93 years old.
Yukio was a veteran of the US Army and retired as Airport Operations Chief for the City of Torrance, CA. In his golden years, he enjoyed making wooden crafts, selling them at craft fairs during the holidays. Pops enjoyed the last years of his life living with his son Doug in Upcountry Maui.
Yukio was predeceased by his wife Pearl and sister Chiye Shimane. He is survived by his brothers Tomotsu and Kiyoshi Fujiwara, sister Shinobu McKinley, daughter Sandy (Victor) Matsumura, son Doug Fujiwara, grandchildren Chris (Tina) Takeshita, Jeff Takeshita, Dayna Valle-Fujiwara, and great-grandchildren Jonathan and Alexis Takeshita.
A Celebration of Life was held in Torrance, CA. Inurnment will take place Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00am at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao.
