The last I seen cousin Alex was at my dad's celebration of life in Kahuku. Brought us homemade Chili Pepper water (hot). Always laughing, sharing Aloha and kind hearted. We lost 2 family members within 4 days my 31 year old niece from Kailua-Kona on 9/22/15 and cousin Alex from Maui on 9/26/15. Much love to all.

I can't believe that he is gone. And it has been over a year... I hadn't seen Alex for years. But thought of him often. That man was a true hawaiian, I met him through the aloha house, and after I graduated we remained friends and I often spent weekends at the farm riding horses and helping out.. I miss you Alex!!
I have many fond memories of Alex Bode. We met over 33 years ago. He was an amazing person. Always on the go, Alex was either fishing, hunting, planting or building something.
When he took off to throw net or poke squid, he never came back empty handed. If Alex caught fish, the neighbors had fish. If Alex grew fruit, the neighbors had fruit.
With a huge heart for giving, Alex Bode embodied the true spirit of Aloha. He showed me the Maui that he knew and loved and I am so blessed to have know him.
