Clarence Kalale Kamai Jr's Obituary
Clarence K. Kamai Jr, 67, of Wailuku, passed away on November 28, 2014, at home under the care of Islands Hospice.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2014 at Nakamura Mortuary; with a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery.
Mr. Kamai was born on Sept. 24, 1947 in Honolulu, HI.
He was a radio telephone operator with the Maui Police Department, for over 10 years.
He is survived by his children, Lahela (Siaosi) Iulio, Clarence (Renee) Kamai III, Kathy (Amosa) Morondos, Kealii (Elizabeth) Kamai, Magdalena Aki-Wright, Gloria (Helena) Kamai, Lehuanani (Greg) Kamai, Kalale Kamai, Leialoha (John) Kalua, Leinaala Kamai, Summer (Erica) Kamai Williams, Mauloa (Anela) Kamai, Hawaiiloa (Miccah) Kamai, E’ala Kamai, Kolika Kamai, Kainalu Kamai; siblings, Larry (Kapua) Kamai, Rev. Natalie (David) Kama, Serine Feliciano, Terry (Eli) Kamai, Faye Kamai-Visaya, Kaye Jackson, Duane (Gabriella) Kamai, Paul (Linda) Kamai, Rev. Matthew (Annette) Kailihou, Nayleen Kamai; 21 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clarence was a decorated Vietnam veteran with the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Devise (1960) awards. He also loved golfing, fishing, diving, playing pool, camping, wheelchair BBall and family time. He was also a volunteer medical assistant driver for DAV and involved with the American Legion.
