Ilima Jane Sylva's Obituary
Ilima Jane Sylva, 69, of Haiku, passed away at Maui Memorial Medical Center on March 23, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
Family services honoring Ms. Sylva were held privately.
Ilima was born on October 21, 1946 to Francis & Mildred (Oliveira) Fosberg in Honolulu, Hawaii. A woman full of love, and of hope for our world, Ilima volunteered for Haku Baldwin Center; engaged in political activism; and was a member of The Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, Humanity’s Team and other organizations. Her final wish, “All I ask of you is that you remember me loving you,” reminds us all to love fully.
Ilima leaves behind to cherish her memory, sisters, Hildie Osley, Karol Bradford & Charlen Kyle; sons, Devin (Amanda Schaefer) Sylva & Brendan (Cindi-Jade) Sylva, granddaughter, Hannah Sylva; grandson, Kumulipo Sylva, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and all those who have been her ohana.
