As Lori's longtime friend, I was able to meet the entire family and wish all of you much healing. Jean was a truly unique personality, and I know she will be missed terribly. I believe that death can be a gift to the living because of its profound potential to cause us to re-evaluate our lives. I am sure that Jean would want her passing to facilitate the elevation of her treasured family and friends. I believe that because that is how she lived -- always striving to make the most of life. Always making her way towards the higher ground. May G-d comfort and bless all of you in your individual journeys and as a family. Now there is yearning and sadness and loss. You can no longer touch her. Yet she will continue to touch you.

I remember how Jean took me into her home with open arms when I met her in Holland. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her, but through her children, especially her daughter and my dear friend Lori, I have known what a special person she was. She was well loved and will be missed.
