Patricia Mae Crawford's Obituary
Patricia Mae Ferreira Pu Crawford, 82, of Kahului passed away on January 29, 2022 at her home. She was born May 12, 1939 in Honolulu to Ernest and Thelma (Rawlins) Ferreira. She was raised in Honolulu and was married Dec 24, 1954 to Daniel Pu of Hana Maui. They had 5 children. She was employed at Barber’s Point. She later moved to San Diego, working at the Balboa Naval Hospital Exchange for many years. In 1993 she returned to Hawaii, residing in Hana Maui with several of her children and grandchildren, until she relocated to Hale Maha’olu Elima in Kahului.
She was a member of the Hana Lani Senior Club in Hana, Hale Maha’olu Elima - Treasurer, MEO – Secretary and also volunteered as a docent for Iolani Palace during her time in Honolulu.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a cherished and dedicated friend. She never missed a birthday or special occasion and no one escaped her home without something in their hand; a book, a newspaper clipping (usually an obituary:), a treat or a gift (canned goods, if nothing else:). She was the ultimate “Granny” helping to raise every one of her many grandchildren. In fact, most people in Hana referred to her as “Granny”. She was a constant and supportive force in the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her five children; Daniel Pu, Jr., Tony Pu (Susie), Walter Pu (Esther) and Tracy Pu-Kim (Greg), all of Hana, Maui and Tricia Gonzalez (Hector) of Arizona, 18 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren, siblings Barbara Tamashiro (Honolulu), Janeen Place (Moloka’i), Chad Kealoha (Big Island) and Lori Gomes (Honolulu).
She was preceded in death by her brother Ernie Ferreira, Jr.
Services will be held at Nakamura’s Mortuary in Wailuku on March 4th from 10am – 12noon and in Hana at St Peters Catholic Church in Pu’uiki on March 5 from 8:30am to 10am. Mass to follow
