Raynette (Rayna) Mary Yap's Obituary
Rayna Yap, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunty, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, surrounded by her family. Throughout her life, Rayna dedicated herself to her family, her faith, and her community.
Rayna graduated from Baldwin High School, class of 1987. Rayna's professional career spanned across various industries, including banking, realty, and most recently, at the County of Maui.
Above all, Rayna cherished her family and pets. She found joy in cooking, baking, and volunteering time at her church. Her infectious warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Rayna is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Byron James Yap; her children, Christian Harkin, Aiden Yap, Taylor Yap, Chloe Yap, and Noah (Kamalei) Yap; her grandchildren, Jayden Bascon, Kaimana Texeira, Tehani Yap, and Cameron Brown; her siblings, Peter Jr. (Desiree) Soares, Tammy (Bruce) Locke, and Daniel (Ginger) Soares; her parents, Cheryl and the late Peter Soares, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Rayna's life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at King's Cathedral. Public visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by a service at 10:30 am.
Rayna's warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and community will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
