Shintoku Arakawa's Obituary
Shintoku "Shin" Arakawa, 95, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2019, at his residence. He was born on October 29, 1924 in Puunene, Maui.
As a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic for H.C. & S. Co., he enjoyed his golden years playing ukulele with his "ukulele gang" and watching sports.
He is survived by his wife, Sachiko Arakawa; daughters, Karen (Wally) Arakawa and Rene (Roger) Yamaoka; grandchildren, Shayna (Lance) Yamamoto, Raelene Yamaoka and Randall Yamaoka; great granddaughter, Kelia Yamamoto; brothers, Clarence (Jean) Miyasato and Richard (Elaine) Miyasato; sisters, Ellen Tamanaha, Hatsuko Gushiken and Julia Kaneyama; together with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Nakamura's Mortuary from 10:00 am, with service to start at 11:00 am. Burial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Maui Memorial Park in Wailuku.
